Digital video taken from a MiniDV tape containing raw footage of Samuel R. Delany being presented a gift following his masterclass presentation, followed by the dinner reception, both held on April 11, 2008 in conjunction with the Annual Bauder Contemporary American Authors Lecture at Marygrove College.

The tape begins with a brief clip of Samuel Delany receiving a gift bag and showing off its contents immediately following the end of his masterclass. Dr. Donald Levin, the Chair of the Department of English and Modern Language, then makes an announcement regarding the survey and lunch.

The remainder of the tape contains footage from the dinner program later that day. The event is hosted by Marygrove College President Dr. David Fike. Dr. Fike thanks those who made the program possible, then introduces Dr. Donald Levin. Dr. Levin then announces the winners of the McCombs-Currier Writing Awards. Delaney then briefly addresses the audience. The recording ends after some concluding words from Dr. Fike.
