Digital video taken from a MiniDV tape containing raw footage of the dinner and award ceremony held at Marygrove College, on April 16, 2004 in conjunction with the 16th Annual Bauder Contemporary American Authors Lecture by Pearl Cleage.

The program is hosted by Marygove's president, Dr. Glenda Price, and begins with remarks by Nettie H. Seabrooks of the Detroit Institute of Arts, S. Martin Taylor of DTE Energy, and Donald and Lillian Bauder. Dr. Frank Rashid, the Chair of English and Modern Languages, then presents awards to the winners of the McCombs-Currier Writing Awards. The program ends with some brief works from Pearl Cleage.
