Silent black and white 8mm film containing footage of the Sea Scouts of Detroit training schooner OLIVER H. PERRY (previously and later known as the J.T. WING) being towed through the Soo Locks, and of a family on board a freighter.
The reel opens with a brief shot of a car parked beside some tree stumps. Then, the PERRY is shown being pulled through the Davis Lock by a tugboat. People are visible on board and in the ship's rigging, while spectators watch from the platforms between the locks in the foreground. In the reel's final shots, the deck of a freighter is the setting for a family walking toward the camera, then boys from that group roughhousing. Two smokestacks are visible on the shore in the background.
The film is on three-inch black metal Eastman-Kodak reel with residue from where a label once was on one side.
