Silent color 16mm film containing silent material shot for Detroit Means Business including footage of Detroit City Airport, Greektown and Trappers Alley, Henry Ford Hospital, and Wayne County Community College's Downtown Center.

The reel opens with a shot of two men talking beside a Thorp 211 airplane with the registry number N29754 on the airfield of Detroit City Airport. The airport's control tower and hangers are visible in the background of some of the wide shots.

The film then moves to Greektown for a series of zooms out from an American Development Corporation sign outside of Trappers Alley declaring it "a recycled urban commercial development" to a couple having a meal inside of Ginopolis' beside the window across Monroe Avenue. More shots follow of the couple and their waitress inside of the restaurant. The camera then moves to Trappers Alley's interior for a series of shots showing it still under construction. A man in a hardhat dances up one of the building's stairways for the camera. From the building's roof, the camera pans along Monroe Street below. The storefront of the Atlantis News Agency and the sing for Pegasus are in view. Esther Edwards, a representative of the American Development Corporation is then filmed speaking to the camera, however this reel lacks sound.

The camera then returns to Detroit City Airport. Following a brief shot of the same small plane from the beginning, larger planes are then shown landing and taking off. The Thorp 211 is then filmed taking off with traffic on McNichols Road and Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery visible in background. Then from the side of a plane, the camera rolls as the plane takes off. Aerial footage of the airport follows. Then, from back on the ground, the camera again films the same two men from the beginning of the reel talking beside the plane.

Next, the footage returns to Ester Edwards silently speaking to the camera from within Trappers Alley, she is also shown leading a man on a tour through the building.

A series of exterior of Henry Ford Hospital follow. These include a from the south along West Grand Boulevard, and a pan from the sign for Henry Ford Hospital's West Clinical Services Building to the building itself.

A series of similar exterior shots of Wayne County Community College's Downtown Center incorporating the building's sign follow.

The reel ends with several close-ups of a cash register being operated by a woman.

The film is contained on a plastic core within an Allied Film Labs bag. A label outside of the bag is marked, "11/16/81 Urban Comm, City Rolls 55-57." A label inside of the bag reads, "Urban C 954 3226 954 4022, C 954 4490 - 954 4831, CZ 139 0738 - 139 1373."
