1948 Last Cruise of the J.T. Wing, Harold M. Hastings

Silent 16mm color film titled, "Last Cruise of the J.T. Wing," credited at the end to "Hastings Historical Pictures (Very) Ltd." The film follows the J.T. WING on it's last trip on July 24, 1948 from the dock near the foot of 24th Street, to Belle Isle where it is moored as a museum ship. The footage features activity as the departure point, the WING under "dress ship" pushed by a tugboat beneath the Ambassador Bridge as shot from another boat, other traffic on the Detroit River (including a fireboat), the ceremony after it arrives at the Belle Isle dock, and an event on the WING after it has been set up as a museum ship. Detroit Historical Museum personnel George Stark and Henry Brown are among the crowd. There are also two shots of signage put it for the ship's use as a museum. The film features a series of title cards with captions.
