Silent 16mm color film taken of a Civil War reenactment at Fort Wayne, dated April 29, 1973. The footage includes two sequences of reenactors firing cannon, a parade of reenactors, two shots of a flag raising ceremony, shots of the reenactors' encampment, and shots of the crowd. The parade includes reenactors portraying Loomis' Battery (Battery A of the 1st Michigan Light Artillery), the 8th Michigan, the 24th Michigan Infantry, a group of Confederate soldiers, women in period dresses, several sailors with boarding pikes, and a group of children in striped shirts marching behind a Battle of Bunker Hill flag. A man portraying Abraham Lincoln stands beside Detroit Historical Museum director Solan Weeks at the flag raising ceremony. The flag pole is the square between the forts barracks, and the other structures which formerly stood nearby, within the fort's walls. A photographer using an old large format camera, a blacksmith doing a demonstration, and several women in period costume are included in the crowd shots. Additionally, artillery pieces on display within the fort's walls are featured prominently in several shots.
