Color Travel
Silent color 16mm reel containing footage shot on a trip aboard a sailboat from Port Huron onto Lake Huron, and of the United States Coast Guard icebreaker ACACIA (WAGL-406).
The film opens with a series of shots along the Black River in Port Huron of a large number of sailboats docked along the shore beside the Michigan National Bank building and a Super A and P Market. From on board a boat, the camera continues to film the shore before turning to the boat's crew, and then to other traffic on the St. Clair River and lakes--including the United States Coast Guard icebreaker MACKINAW (WAGB-83). The film then resumes with the camera operator's boat in a harbor surrounded by breakwalls--likely Port Sanilac Harbor.
After a cut in the film, the remainder of the reel is dedicated to footage of the United States Coast Guard icebreaker ACACIA (WAGL-406) at work on an ice-covered river, as filmed from the shore.
The film is on a metal reel in a dark grey metal canister. A masking tape label on the canister's lip reads "Color Travel."
