Fort Wayne 1972, 10 Min Silent Spot

Silent 16mm color film consisting of a series of quick shots taken at Fort Wayne of the fort's architecture, exhibits on display, and of a Civil War reenactment. The film includes close-ups of the fort's brickwork and embrasures, pans across the barracks (including its roof), and shots of artillery platforms atop the earthworks. Shots taken inside a building on the fort's grounds show models of a palisade fort and a star fort; an exhibit of Native American artifacts including beadwork, weapons, tools, and furs; and a small cannon. The final portion of the reel centers on a Civil War reenactment at the fort. In a dramatized sequence, Union troops are shown playing cards in the barracks, then rushing out the door in response to a bugle's call. There are also shots of re-enactors at attention, marching, lowering a flag, and firing cannon, as well as their encampment, a man portraying Abraham Lincoln, and several shots of a blacksmithing demonstration.
