16mm color film containing a series of ten Detroit Police Department's Crime Prevention Section public service announcements. The spots promote the section as a source for further information on the featured subjects. and each concludes with a title card featuring the section's phone number, and a voice-over reciting the slogan "Get the crime prevention service your tax dollars paid for."The first two spots deal with the department's free home security surveys. The third spot deals with the crime of rape. The forth focuses on street safety and mugging and was partially shot outside the London Luggage Shop on Woodward Avenue and between Antoinette Street and Burroughs Street. The Detroit Police Department's neighborhood watch programs are the topic of the fifth and sixth spots. The seventh concerns breaking and entering and the importance of proper locks. The eighth spot deals with child molestation and safety, and features a still of a Police Athletic League soccer team. The ninth spot focuses on the crime prevention hotline and brochures. The final spot again deals with the importance of proper locks. The spots feature re-enactments, a display demonstrating different types of locks, illustrations, and simple animation with paper cut-outs.
