Color 16mm film reel containing a 1977 re-election campaign advertisement for Detroit City Council President Pro-tem Nicholas Hood, paid for by Volunteers for Councilman Hood. Using a voice over shots of Hood and his achievements, the commercial emphasizes Hood's works as minister of Plymouth United Church of Christ, his role in developing the non-profit apartment complexes Medical Center Court and the Medical Center Village Apartments, his Cyprian Center which acts as a daycare center for children, and treatment center for the developmentally disabled, and his previous 12 years of experience as a member of the city council.
The commercial's shots include Hood seated on a planter outside of the City-County Building with the Renaissance Center in the background, Hood beside the sign for Plymouth United Church of Christ, Hood on the grounds of the Medical Center Courts apartments and the Medical Center Village Apartments, Hood with a ground of children outside of the Cyprian Center, Hood with a group of people with developmental disabilities outside of the Cyprian Center, Hood in front of the Spirit of Detroit, and Hood in his office.
