16mm color workprint with synchronized magnetic audio from the Sue Marx production, "This is My Home, This is Detroit," shot in Virginia Park, centering on Gertrude Powe. Powe is interviewed on the porch of her home at 1656 Pingree Street, and while walking down Pingree Street about her neighborhood, Virginia Park. She discusses the community center, the neighborhood watch program, and the Virginia Park Economic Development Committee, follows. There are also several shots of her interacting with her neighbors, including a postal worker, an elderly woman, a young man, two young couples with children, a woman standing on the porch of 1667 Pingree Street, and a woman gardening in a plot between homes. The footage also includes drive-by shots of the west side of Rosa Parks Boulevard from Lee Place north to Hazelwood Street, passing the Virginia Park Community Plaza Farmer Jack, Comerica Bank, and Virginia Park Town Homes, and a shot of the Rosa Parks Boulevard and 12th Street signs at Pingree Street, before zooming out to show Powe and another woman crossing the street toward Farmer Jack.
