After a brief shot of a car radio, the reel opens with exterior shots of Kmart Corporation International Headquarters on West Big Beaver Road in Troy. Next, the camera moves to the exterior of the Budd Company headquarters also on West Big Beaver in Troy.

Two different camera set-ups follow getting shots of both the sign for Lawrence Institute of Technology off of Northwestern Highway, as well as its sign off of West Ten Mile Road.

The next segment on the tape is the first of two portions featuring the campus of Wayne State University. This first portion begins with a shot from the southwest side of Cass Avenue, near Kirby Street, facing southeast with people walking past. Following a brief close-up of Oskar Stonorov's sculpture Dancing Maidens, the camera films people along the northwestern edge of fountain court, with the Chatsworth Apartments and the Student Center Building in the background. This segment ends with a man walking at the northern corner of Fountain Court with the Chatsworth Apartments in the background.

The next part of the reel contains footage shot along the runways of Detroit Metropolitan Airport. These scenes consist of a Trans World Airlines plane taking off, a Delta Airlines plane taking off, a Frontier Airlines plane landing, a Delta plane landing, an Eastern Air Lines plane landing, an over-the-shoulder shot of an aircraft marshaller directing a Pan American World Airways plane, and a jet bridge extending to the hatch of a Pan Am plane.

The camera then moves to the parking lot of Fairlane Town Center for a series of shots of the Ford ACT monorail which linked the mall of a station in the Hyatt Regency hotel. The monorail is shown passing overhead, and entering the hotel's station.

Next, from a position at the western tip of Belle Isle, the camera rolls as the sun sets behind the downtown Detroit skyline.

Exterior shots follow of the Jefferson Square apartments, featuring the complex's sign in the foreground.

Then from a position along East Jefferson Avenue, the camera pans down the side of the Jeffersonian Apartments to the sign in front of it.

The next portion of the film contains the second set of Wayne State shots. These begin with a series of pans from the exterior of the Walter P. Reuther Library, through Oskar Stonorov's Dancing Maidens, to people walking along Reuther Mall beyond. Next people are filmed walking past DeRoy Auditorium. From across Cass Avenue, the camera also rolls on the exterior of the Detroit Public Library's Main Branch.

Then, from Beaubien Street, the camera records both the logo for Children's Hospital of Michigan on the side of its exterior, as well as its sign at street level.

The final stretch of the reel contains footage of SEMTA Commuter Rail trains on the tracks to the east of the Renaissance Center, which stands in the background. Engine 904 approaches the camera and slows allowing a conductor to step off. After a cut the train continues past the camera. The camera continues to rolls on additional stopped trains in the background, as well as another passing one before the film ends.
