Flyer

Screen printed flyer for the 1997 Detroit Music Awards, designed by Mark Arminski. The flyer is printed in green, yellow, and black on white paper and includes an image of Ludwig van Beethoven driving a car, with a woman in the passenger seat. Through word balloons, the woman is saying, "Hosted by Michael Moore," to which Beethoven replies, "Huh?" The award show was scheduled for April 25, 1997 at the State Theatre. The flyer lists performances by Sponge, the Howling Diablos, Kid Rock, Straight Ahead, Mudpuppy, the Forbes Brothers, Jan Krist, Jill Jack, Sister Seed, and Peter's Rock Mass Choir. Glenn Frey, Iggy and the Stooges, Chuck Forbes, and the Ann Arbor Blues and Jazz Festival are also listed as "distinguished achievement award recipients." Hoarse, Speedball, Dodge Main, Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise, the Motor Dolls, and Getaway Cruiser are listed as playing an awards celebration after party. The flyer also lists the event's sponsors--Harmony House, the Metro Times, Ticketmaster, Mr. B's, Memphis Smoke, 89X, and 93.9 The River.
