Invitation to the First Annual Ball of Protection Engine Company No. 1 at Thomas Paton's Hotel on Gratiot Avenue at Russell Street on Tuesday, February 17, 1852. The invitation lists the managers, and floor managers for the event, and notes that the music will be provided by Warner's Band, and "carriages for the ladies will be in attendance."
