Ithica Manufacturing Cigar Company label bearing a color lithographed illustration entitled "Lime Kiln Club," by Mensing and Steecher of Rochester, New York. The image of a group of black-face-style stereotypical caricatures of African Americans engaged in a burlesque club meeting is based upon the book, "Brother Gardner's Lime-Kiln Club," about a meeting of the fictional organization set on Fighting Island on the Detroit River.
