Letter

Half-folded leaf containing a portion of a handwritten letter sent by Anna Wilson to her sister who has accompanied Anna's daughter Margaret Wilson to the Plaza Hotel in New York City for treatment for her bad knee. The portion contains Anna's response to the trouble over boarding arrangements with Margaret's doctor, as well as news of new pieces of furniture and of the mother of the sisters. The portion reads:

842 Cass Ave.
Friday A.M.

My Dear Sister,
They good letter just rec'd and I was so glad to get a letter, although I have been glad to receive the postals. Well how does it seem to have the care of a baby all of the time, thee must get very tired and wish for someone to share the care. I am delighted to hear such good reports from both of you and how I should love to see you. I am hurrying as fast as I can to get through with my sewing before you came home. In doubt thee was disappointed at not seeing Fnd'k[?]. Is it it[?] too bad about the rooms, why can not Miss Eddy take another room until thee goes away and then she can have it. I should not go far to accommodate Miss E-, but of course the Dr. is another matter. How much can Miss E- see, and how long is she going to stay at the Plaza. I thought likely thee would treat[?] the Dr. and I hope that he will appreciate it. Did thee not get new shines[?] for M- she said nothing about it in the list of expenses. Well I hope to be able sometime to do something for thee, it seems to be all one sided. A postal from mother this morning says that she is about the same. She is sitting up. I have a beautiful new black silk waist but I do not know who to have make it. I wanted to send it to Wme. Wright but Jim thought that the express and lining would make it more expensive. I want to keep it black and white. Can thee tell me some pretty way to make it and what will be the prettiest thing to put with it. I have just had a fine thing made for my upper hall, for a store room. It is a cupboard running the length of the hall. One end of it is shelves and the other end hooks for hanging up my dresses. We are going to put a pretty curtain in front of it and it will look well.
I know I have been neglecting my duties about writing, but I sit down after breakfast and sew until I go out to ride or do errands and sew when I get home sometimes until nine o'clock P.M. But of course I have so many interruptions that I do not get along as fast.
I have just had a navy blue broadcloth shirt waist made and think that I shall enjoy it.
I am having a plain black waist made to wear with skirts and when I get my silk waist made that will complete the list.
Anna loves[?] out of door, but goes to school from half past one to a quarter of four. I could not keep her home, she was so anxious to go. Does thee keep account of the Drs. Treatments for Margaret & is thee depending upon him to send his bill. I have the loveliest girl for[?] cook that I
