Letter
Half-folded leaf containing a portion of a handwritten letter sent to Anna Wilson by her sister who has accompanied Anna's daughter Margaret Wilson to the Plaza Hotel in New York City for treatment for her bad knee. In the letter the sister relays that Margaret's knee is improving, but the doctor has fallen ill. The portion reads:
Plaza Tuesday
P.M.
My dear sister
[?] thy letter am happy to report [?] of [?] especially M. and I am not the [?] of a letter and [?] from my monthly [?] I am away[?] four days ahead of [?].
[?] & the next evening I started up I had [?] before hand [?] and have had hardly any since. And this is my third day. I had my breakfast in my room Saturday evening [?] dressed [?] for lunch and have [?] about as usual [?] once in a while a [?]. [?] I am delighted to think I came around [?] letter [?]. I [?] about [?] what I should have done if I had [?]. It has been [?] Saturday & today [?] have gone out anyway[?] but it is [?] hard for M. to have to stay in bed. She does very well. She is asking me know about her [?]. She is much [?] I [?] her letters.
She said [?] & [?] her doctor [?] her doll. [?] I think her knee is reduced. The skin is loose & she does not complain of it at all. I suffer it this morning & Sunday morning the doctor is feeling miserable and I part[?] fear he will have to give up treating her[?] [?] doctor when this [?]. This [?] is [?]. He has dreadful [?] in his hand[?] and eye [?]. I part[?] pity him and I am sorry in an account [?] for I should [?] as I have done so much better this time and I should like M. & have a few more [?]. [?] like her along all right, her knee is so much better. She has a very good [?]. She complains once in a long while of her neck[?] but she says it is just the circulations which will come all right. It is just as I say if [?] any thing unfavorable[?]. I got my [?] when I [?] for the doll I have her a book while I was dressing [?] did not make breakfast [?] late for her. We had a nice dinner lamb chips for me & potatoes & celery & boiled onions.
