Letter

Half-folded leaf containing a portion of a handwritten letter sent to Anna Wilson by her sister who has accompanied Anna's daughter Margaret Wilson to the Plaza Hotel in New York City for treatment for her bad knee. In the letter the sister requests a rolling chair for Margaret, and reports that the doctor is feeling better. The portion reads:

Plaza Oct. 4th[?]

My Dear Sister,
[?] thy letter and it is always good to hear from home.
I envy [?]
This morning I took M. downtown & got [?] doll [?] paper doll with a dog [?] cut out and pasted. [?] of which I then fixed for her. [?] playing [?] chirping like a bird.
I would like thee to send down her rolling chair [?] a little while and I think if I had the chair I could poke around [?] her [?] some comfort again as the [?] that is the [?]
We went out this [?] system & [?] and [?] going to have [?] a [?] in the [?]. M. does not eat the oysters but like the juice in soup. She eats so much more in [?] than at the table and I have things [?] dinner soon. I can get up quite a lunch and [?] M. [?] silver [?] sugar [?] loves to help & [?] she [?] is her [?]. I got up at half past six this morning & got [?] to breakfast before eight and [?] quarter of nine for [?]. The [?] but I [?] & M. [?] he will [?] how long it will before she [?] home.
I hope it will not be long for I get dreadfully homesick and I think of [?] get well someway.
The doctor got over his [?] but he is not well and has to have some allowance made for him but he says his is going to [?] any way.
I feel [?] M. [?] whenever we do go home, her [?] for the [?] but [?] if only we had kept her [?] quiet when she was a [?] says she will [?] the back [?] M. did. She kept saying "this is lovely" [?]. [?] ate a shredded wheat biscuit & fruit, I was [?] American Plaza.
M. has [?] lot of stuff to tell thee, but too much to write. She wants to know if her bicycle came yet. She wanted to [?] feathers [?] show it to the bell boy & maids and was so proud as a peacock. She said I guess people will think I look pretty fine. Now we are getting along as well as we can and of course doing may help pass the time. I am feeling very well only I want to be out more which I can do if I get the chair[?] How I wish this could be [?].
I meant to say that one [?] danger of M. falling out which is a [?]
