Letter

V-Mail message sent by Frances Sypniewski of Detroit to her husband Lieutenant Chester J. Sypniewski, dated June 26, 1943, containing a drawing of herself sitting in a bathtub filled with blocks of ice. She also wears an ice block on her head. Daggers emerge from her eyes as she looks toward a thermometer at the one hundred degree mark. She depicted herself with bags beneath her eyes, as a note beside the drawing explains, "Note: Bags under eyes due to humidity--not heat!" Her message below the drawing reads:

Hi darling--
'T aint cricket to talk about the weather but this is going to be me unless there's a change--but quick!!! Here's a kiss for the end of your nose--
Your Very Greasey puss
