Letter

Five page handwritten letter and airmail envelope sent to Corporal Daniel Matthew Karales by one of his brothers--presumably James--dated June 19, 1952. In the letter, his brother requests that Daniel be on the lookout for paintings by major artists for sale cheap. He provides a two page list of artists to watch for including the likes of Leonardo da Vinci, Pieter Bruegel, and Edgar Degas. He also provides information about the family back home--their mother's trip to Cleveland, the status of their garden, and the growth of their younger brothers. He closes with news of changes in the Detroit Tigers' roster.
