Typewritten letter addressed simply "Dear Madam," from the Mark W. Allen and Company in confirmation and appreciation of business. The letterhead states, "Office of Mark W. Allen & Co.; Manufacturers of Mrs. R.W. Allen's Celebrated Cosmetics and Toilet Articles; 122 Michigan Ave., Detroit, Mich," and it includes a half-tone print of a head-and-shoulders portrait photograph of President Sarah Jane Allen. Mark W. Allen is listed as secretary. Handwritten genealogical notes are written in pencil on the verso:
