One copy of the April 1, 1940, issue of "Sales Management" magazine. An article, titled "Radio 'Early Bird' Ugly Duckling Turns into a Swan for CKLW" appears on page 46. This article notes that while early morning radio shows often struggle to find advertisers, the Early Morning Frolic show on CKLW commands higher rates than those of the traditionally more popular hours. They argue that this is because the show has been able to integrate advertisers into their jokes in a way both listeners and advertisers appreciate.
