Breakfast menu card from the Hotel Pontchartrain, dated January 20, 1918. The recto lists fruit, beverages, cereals, eggs, oysters, fish, specials, steaks and chops, and potatoes. The verso declares that the hotel is a member of the United States Food Administration, and urges the conservation of food for the war effort. Additionally, a disclaimer on the verso cautions that the management declines responsibility to damage to clothing caused by accidents in the dining room.
