Menu
Half-folded J.L. Hudson Company Dining Rooms menu, dated March 9, 1949, bearing the painting "Mending Row," by Zoltan Sepeshy on the front cover surrounded by a copper border. The painting depicts commercial fishermen mending their nets and was part of the Michigan on Canvas touring exhibit put together by the J.L. Hudson Company. A passage on the back cover explains both the exhibit and the painting. Within the menu is divided into the sections "Soups and Appetizers," "Shopper's Luncheon One Dollar," "Sandwiches," "Desserts," "Fruits," "Hudson Made Ice Cream and Sundaes," and "Beverages." A note along the bottom of the menu's interior informs, "Detroit's Police Department asks everyone's help in its traffic safety program, "Watch Out For Kids."
