Half-folded menu for the Hotel Book-Cadillac's Cafe Cadillac, dated Saturday, November 6, 1943. The caption, "Detroit's Site of Historica Hospitality," is printed on the cover with illustrations of the Book-Cadillac Hotel, as well as its predecessors, the Antisdel House, built in 1868, and the Cadillac Hotel, it was rebuilt as in 1888. Luncheon and dinner items are both listed within the menu. Several World War II-related notes are printed in the menu. "Rationed Foods. Because of the rationing, our allowance compels us to ask your cooperation to bear with us so that we may serve all our guests with the least inconvenience." is printed in the lower left corner of the interior. "The Management of Hotel Book-Cadillac assures its patrons that all foods served here are bough from recognized reputable sources at ceiling prices. We will not tolerate any dealings with black markets. Fay M. Thomas, General Manager." is printed in the lower right corner of the interior beside a small "For Victory, Buy United States War Bonds and Stamps" graphic of a soldier. On the back cover is a passage about the history of hotels on the site of the Book-Cadillac, including that of Nathaniel Champ, Hobert and Terhune, William Champ, John Blindbury, William Antisdel's Antisdel House, and Daniel Scotten's Hotel Cadillac.
