The Sanders Menu, Vol. 1, No. 8
Half-folded Sanders menu dated Monday, July 31, 1944. Articles and advertisements are printed on the front and back cover concerning the seven food groups, war bonds, the popularity of the Sanders ice cream soda at the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago, food and paper conservation, the return of butter batter ice cream cones (temporarily discontinued due to butter rationing, and a shortage of bakers), and employment information. A three-panel comic strip on the back cover shows a woman deciding it's too hot to cook, buying a Sanders ready-cooked meal, and her husband mistaking it for home cooked food. Breakfast, luncheon, supper, and dessert items are listed within. Several menu items have been crossed out, and new ones written in their place.
