Press kit assembled for the 100th anniversary of Parke, Davis and Company. The kit is contained in a beige two pocket folder with "Parke-Davis 1866-1966, 100th Anniversary, Better Medicines for a Better World," printed on the cover. Within are a letter to the editor from company vice-president Carl Johnson, a small water-transfer decal bearing the logo from the folder's cover, three black and white glossy photographs with additional sheets captioning them--the first of the same logo as a three dimensional desk standee "plaque," a head-and-shoulders portrait of Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer Harry J. Loynd, and portrait of President and Chief Operating Officer Harold W. H. Burrows seated at a desk--as well as five stapled type-written packets. The first is "Centennial Filler Facts," consisting of twelve facts about the company's history spread across three pages, prepared by the Public Relations Department of Young and Rubicam, Incorporated. The same firm also assembled a two page press release entitled, "Sales Meeting, Movie, Brochure Highlight Centennial Year for Parke, Davis & Company," which describes the filming of a promotional film, "Time for Living," as well as an exhibit done in conjunction with the Detroit Historical Society. Two untitled press releases, one four pages long, the other two, briefly detailing the company's history, also come from Young and Rubicam. A thirty page document entitled, "Parke, Davis & Company, 'Better Medicines for a Better World," which gives background on the company and its activities is also included.
