Pamphlet

Pamphlet from the Committee on the J.T. Wing outlining the plan, purpose, and method for preserving the schooner J.T. Wing after its final voyage. The cover features a blue toned photograph of the schooner with the text "The Wing" underneath the bottom right corner of the photo. The contents inside consist of a listing of members of the Committee on the J.T. Wing on the left side and four sections, including "The End and the Beginning," "The Plan," "The Purpose," and "The Method," outlining and justifying the proposed preservation of the vessel on the right. "The Method" indicates that the purpose of this pamphlet is "Frankly...a request for funds to complete the job."

The J.T. Wing went on to house the City Maritime Museum on Belle Isle, on the eventual site of the Dossin Great Lakes Museum, from 1949-1956.
