Modern Streetcars
Half-folded pamphlet advertising the General Electric Presidents Conference Committee-style streetcar, referred to within simply as "modern cars." Philadelphia Transportation Company streetcar number 2013 is pictured on the front. The pamphlet describes the economic advantages of the model, and highlights several of its new parts. The left side of the pamphlet is punched with eleven holes for binding.
The Presidents Conference Committee-style streetcar, or PCC car was based upon the design of the Pullman Model B by John Hession, Jr. based on specifications from Dr. Clarence F. Hirshfeld of the Electric Railway Presidents' Conference Committee.
