Bird's Eye View, Looking West from City Hall, Detroit, Michigan

One postcard of the old City Hall in Detroit. It shows an elevated color photographic image of a front corner of the City Hall building. Fort Street is visible at the left side of the postcard and Michigan Avenue can be seen at the right. Downtown buildings are visible in the background. Black printed text in the upper right corner reads "Bird's Eye View, Looking West from City Hall, Detroit, Michigan." Green printed text on the verso reads "Bird's Eye View, Looking West from City Hall, Detroit, Michigan. The City Hall was completed in 1871 and cost $600,000. The clock in the tower is the largest in the United States. The dials are 3 1/2 feet in diameter. Many of the municipal boards have offices in this building." Additional small printed text reads "Published by Wolverine News Co., Detroit, Mich. Made in U.S.A."
