One postcard entitled "CHIEF WAWATAM - Railroad Carferry". The postcard features a color photographic image of the railroad ferry, CHIEF WAWATAM under power. A caption on the verso reads:
One of the oldest and largest carferries on the Great Lakes. It has operated continuously for over 50 years - - (breaking channels through ice-over 20 feet thick), and has weathered all types of storms in the Straits of Mackinac. The carferry carries railroad cars from St. Ignace to Mackinaw City - - and is the only railroad service connecting the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of Michigan.
