Drink Reutter's Root Beer
5¢ A Nip Everywhere
One postcard with the message, "Drink Reutter's Root Beer, 5¢ A Nip Everywhere." The front of the postcard shows a sepia-toned photograph of a small delivery wagon with signs that advertise "Reutter's Root Beer" which was produced and sold by "Reutter & Son, Wet Goods." The photo shows a left side view of the wagon which is being drawn by two donkeys and is stopped on a brick-paved street in Detroit. Two young boys are seated on the wagon and the boy in the foreground is George W. Reutter II. The donkeys, Maude and Mary, are both wearing large decorative pom poms on the tops of their heads. Handwritten black ink text in the lower right corner reads "Sept. 10, 1909. Black printed text on the verso advertises other beverage products and includes prices as well as contact information.
