Ice Blockade in Straits of Mackinac

One postcard entitled "Ice Blockade in Straits of Mackinac". The postcard shows a black and white photographic image of the coal-fired railroad ferry and icebreaker, CHIEF WAWATAM. The ferry is depicted moving through an ice blockade in the Straits of Mackinac. There is a stamp on the verso that is postmarked July 29, 1949. Photograph credited to R. B. Desy.
