Postcard entitled "Intake Station, Detroit Water Works, Detroit, Mich." The postcard shows a color drawing of the potable water intake crib, built in 1904, which is one of the water source locations for the City of Detroit. The circular gray stone structure has a metal roof and is located in the Detroit River on the northeast side of Belle Isle just upstream from Water Works Park. A flashing white navigational light is located in the cupola at the top of the intake.
