Printed on verso: New Belle Isle Bridge, Detroit, Mich. On May 1st, 1923, the new Belle Isle Bridge was formally opened to the public. This bridge, erected under the supervision of the Department of Public Works, cost $3,000,000. It is 2,193 feet long, the roadway being 59 ft. wide, and sidewalks on either side 12 feet wide each. It has 19 spans and a clearance of 30 feet. This bridge connects Belle Isle Park with the mainland and is a beautiful structure, replacing the old bridge which was burned in 1915.
