Above and beyond the call of duty

World War II poster entitled, "Above and beyond the call of duty" and "Dorie Miller - Received the Navy Cross at Pearl Harbor, May 27, 1942." The poster show a head and shoulders color drawing of U.S. Navy seaman, Dorie Miller--the first African American awarded the Navy Cross, in the foreground. Several sunken ships can be seen in the background. The artist's name, David Stone Martin, is shown near the center left edge of the drawing. Small printed text along the bottom edge of the poster shows "OWI Poster No. 68. Additional copies may be obtained upon request from the Division of Public Inquiries, Office of War Information, Washington, D.C." and "U.S. Government Printing Office: 1943-O-530929."
