Share the Meat as a Wartime Necessity

World War II poster with the message, "Americans! Share the Meat as a wartime necessity." The poster is printed in red and black text on a white background and encourages Americans to eat less meat in order to maintain adequate supplies for the armed forces. A chart entitled, "Your Fair Weekly Share" makes recommendations concerning the maximum amounts of meat that one should eat. Additional printed text along the bottom shows, "Help Win the War!, Keep within your share." The poster was produced by the Foods Requirement Committee of the War Production Board and is signed by its chairman, Claude R. Wickard. Small printed text along the bottom shows "OWI Poster No. 10 Additional copies may be obtained upon request from the Division of Public Inquiries, Office of War Information, Washington, D.C." and "U.
