Attention! Lancers

1 - Civil War recruitment poster entitled: "Attention! Lancers; Recruits Wanted! For the Lancer Cavalry Regiment under Hon. A. Rankin M.P., Col." The poster is printed in black text on slightly yellowed paper. Printed text along the bottom of the poster calls for "Able-Bodied Men between the ages of Eighteen and Forty-five" and gives rates of pay as well as details concerning food, clothing, medical attention, and allowances for the use of one's own horse. Small printed text near the lower left edge indicates that the recruiting office headquarters was located at "No. 42, Griswold Street, Detroit."
