A Chronology of Banking in Detroit, 1897-1957
1 - Poster entitled: "A Chronology of Banking in Detroit, 1897-1957", the poster is printed in blue and brown ink on pale yellow paper and shows the dates of origin for many Detroit area banks as well as closure/failure dates, subsequent mergers, takeovers, and name changes. A heavy vertical line down the center of the chart is labeled "Bank Holiday" which occurred on March 6-9, 1933. Timelines in the upper half of the chart show those banks which survived through the Depression era to the present time. Timelines in the lower half of the chart show those banks which failed prior to 1933 or as a result of the Bank Holiday of 1933 and the passage of the Emergency Banking Relief Act. The chart was compiled and printed: "In Commemoration of the Sixtieth Anniversary of the Bankers Club of Detroit November 13, 1957"
