Ford Tri-Motored Transport
Poster printed on paper. The front shows a pencil drawing of a right side view of a Ford Tri-Motored Transport plane at the Ford Airport in Dearborn, with the Edison Institute in the background. The back features a diagram showing top, front, and left side views of a Ford Tri-Motor at top left, "Description of Ford-Tri-Motored Transport" at top right, and instructions regarding "How to Get Thompson's Complete Set of Aeroplane Pictures, Diagrams and Data" at along with an advertisement for Thompson's "Double Malted" milk at the bottom. The description of the Tri-Motor reads as follows:
"The Ford transport is probably the best known of all airplanes. The achievement of Ford tri-motor in safely carrying Rear-Admiral Richard E. Byrd and his crew from his Little America base on the Ross Sea to the South Pole and back was enough to give the Ford plane world-wide recognition. Its reputation as an aerial passenger carrier, however, is founded rather on its long record of reliable operation on passenger transport routes in North America and the freight and express routs of the Ford Motor Company."
The description then lists the airplane's specifications, performance, and materials.
