My Soldier

World War I poster entitled: "My Soldier", the poster shows an oval-shaped, black and white pencil sketch of a mother and child who are praying. The artist's name, "H. H. Green," is shown at the lower left edge of the sketch. Beneath the sketch, printed text shows a variation of a popular 18th century prayer that begins with "Now I lay me down to sleep ...." The poster background has a blue field at the top, with vertical red and white stripes below in the style of an American flag. Large printed text along the bottom of the poster shows "Buy United States Government Bonds Third Liberty Loan" Small printed text along the bottom edge shows "13 A" and "The Matthews-Northrup Works, Buffalo, Cleveland, and New York."
