Torch Drive United Foundation,
Charter Membership Award

One "Torch Drive United Foundation" poster that is a "Charter Membership Award, Presented to Detroit Historical Museum, October 18 - November 10, 1949." The poster shows a color drawing of the Torch Drive column in front of the old City Hall in downtown Detroit with the caption, "General Mark Clark lights Metropolitan Detroit's Torch - October 18, 1949." The poster was presented "In recognition of outstanding support in the creation and unprecedented success of Metropolitan Detroit's first annual United Foundation Torch Drive which brought common sense into fund raising for health and community services." Copies of the signatures of the Foundation officers are shown along the bottom of the poster: "John S. Coleman, President; Walter C. Laidlaw, Vice-President and General Manager; Frank R. Pierce, General Campaign Chairman."
