One map that shows a bird's-eye "View of Detroit, 1818." The drawing is printed in black ink on white paper and shows an elevated view that looks northwestward and includes the Detroit River, the City of Detroit and its surrounding stockade, and Fort Shelby. Street names are also shown. A key at the bottom of the sheet shows numbered points of interest with descriptions which are located on the map. Printed text at the top of the sheet shows "Compliments of Hurd-Martin Co., Bird's-Eye View Specialists, Detroit, Michigan" as well as "Factory Illustrations" and "Bird's-Eye Views."
