The sidewheel passenger steamer MAY FLOWER is depicted docked along the riverfront. The image is captioned, "Michigan Central Railroad, Detroit 1853, in Pioneer Days of Eaton-Clark Company," and includes the handwritten message, "Christmas and New Year Greetings from Eaton-Clark Co. Established 1838," and "B.E. Eaton."
