Scripps Trans-Atlantic Cruiser - "Detroit"
One reproduction print entitled "Scripps Trans-Atlantic Cruiser - 'Detroit'." The color print shows a starboard side view of a small motor vessel that has a single mast. Printed text beneath the image shows "Crossed the Atlantic Ocean and North Sea in 1912 enroute from Detroit to St. Petersburg, Russia. Commissioned by William E. Scripps of Detroit to promote the reliability of his marine gasoline engine." Additional printed text gives vessel dimensions and other details. The name of the artist, "F. R. Crevier," is shown near the right corner of the drawing. The print was part of the "Detroit Federal Savings Great Lakes Reproduction Series 1973."
