Program

Shrine Circus
1976 Souvenir Program

One program for the 1976 Shrine Circus, which took place at the Michigan State Fair Coliseum. The interior pages are printed in black and gray. The first 11 pages feature letters from executives of the Moslem Temple (the producers of the circus), the Governor of Michigan, the Mayor of Detroit, and the City Council of Detroit. The next 18 pages have photographs of the Temple members and the inner clubs/organizations. After that section, the following pages are filled with sponsors advertisements and photos of the circus acts. In the center, there is a three-page spread (blue paper with red printing) of the program for the event. Glue-bound cover.

The front cover is printed in full color and has illustrations of circus performances including a magic trick, a woman riding a horse, characters from the live "Planet of the Apes" act, and a tiger. The Shriners "Moslem" hat is included in the "Shrine Circus" title. The back cover has an advertisement for Ball Park Franks.
