One tax receipt, dated December, 14, 1871, issued by the Wayne County Treasurer's Office in Detroit. It was printed in black text on white paper and indicated that A. Richmond [of Richmond & Backus Company] paid $44.75 for state and county taxes on property located at "W [west] 50 ft. of E [East] 60 ft., Lot 3," and also "Personal Property." The receipt was signed by "James Collins, Dty. [Deputy] County Treasurer."
