Five-page stapled release from the Heads of State Defense Committee of the Detroit Artists' Workshop, addressed, "To our Friends," concerning the arrests of John Sinclair, Magdalene "Leni" Sinclair, and 41 others in a "raid" on the Workshop made on January 24, 1967 during a rehearsal by John Sinclair's Detroit Edison White-Light Band for charges revolving around marijuana. The releases asks for donations in the form of checks, or in art that could be sold to raise funds for the group's legal defense. The release also discusses other organizations with related goals, including providing legal aid for others caught in raids, bringing suits against the police to recover seized property, and fighting for the legalization of marijuana. The final two pages of the release consist of copies of newspaper clippings about the arrests, and two undercover Detroit Police Department Narcotics Bureau officers who were involved.
