Resolution

Resolution to the staff of the Detroit Historical Museum from the trustees of the Detroit Historical Society on March 8, 1954. The resolution is signed by Detroit Historical Society president Prentiss M. Brown and secretary Thomas D. Leadbetter. The text of the resolution is as follows:

"Testimonial Resolution
to
the Staff of
The Detroit Historical Museum

RESOLVED that we, the trustees of the Detroit Historical Society, do hereby express our appreciation of the effective manner in which the staff of the Detroit Historical Museum cooperated with time and service in the preparation and binding of the Society's history "The Detroit Historical Society - A chronicle compiled under the direction of Gracie Brainerd Krum."

Their work included editorial supervision of the project: secretarial service in revising the original manuscript and extending it to cover a 30 year period instead of 25 as originally drafted: typing and proof reading: illustrating with charming line drawings: preparation and use of stencils: assembling 500 volumes of about 180 sheets each.

Such painstaking wholehearted cooperation is making the dreams of both the Museum's and Society's founders a reality.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the office of the Detroit Historical Museum and shown to the members of its staff as an expression of our appreciation.
