Supplement to the Detroit News containing a report of the Urban Detroit Area Research Project by Doxiadis Associates and the Detroit Edison Company. It includes maps, photos and illustrations, that latter of which depict futuristic visions for the city. Sections are titled: "A Better Life in the 21st Century", "Orderly Growth to the Northeast", "The Key to Planned Growth: New Land Transportation Networks", "Computerized Dual-Mode Vehicles and 250-MPH Trains Will Serve UDA", "Today's Downtown…With Many Problems", "A New Detroit…Emerging From the Past", and "By 2000 a Developing New Metropolis South of Port Huron". There are also quotes from Mayor Jerome P. Cavanagh, Walker Lee Cisler of Detroit Edison, and urban planner Constantinos A. Doxiadis.
